Anyone reading the book of Daniel for the first time would be surprised to know that God actually pushed Daniel over the cliff, before answering Daniels prayer. 6. Now, that brings me to say something, finally, and thirdly, about Daniel's reward. He knew how to study divine wisdom, and he became wise. Look with me at verse 10. Daniel was forsaken by the king who felt he had no choice, but to follow the law and have Daniel thrown to the lions. He makes this new decree: that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and steadfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end" (verse 26). 1.
