I just bought a small size bottle of Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP. Definitely not a scent for everyone as it makes quite a strong statement but it is THE scent for me. If you can find it BUY IT! I had wanted to buy it for a long time, but refrained because of high price. Now I've always thought Decadence was strong, unpleasant and too mature based on the mixed reviews. I found an old sample of this recently and was super excited to try it. Not much more can be said about it, well done perfume. I heard mixed reviews about this fragrance, many people said it smelled very "mature" so I was afraid to try it, but I received a sample of it, and Oh My God!!!! It lasts a long time on my skin and I like how it smells the next day the most! Can only wear it during colder months. I love the originality of this scent. In my quest for a great Fall Winter fragrance, I found Decadence and decided to give it a try. Maybe the vetiver? This one seems a little more 'fresh' & lighter than the Divine (if that make sense). What a disaster. it screams personality, and not generic. Kind of masculine. This is either a love it or hate it fragrance, in my opinion. Very mature, sharp, and metallic fragrance. This is such a nice, sweet perfume. However, thankfully that pickle juice note does not dominate on my skin (and I love pickles!). Marc Jacobs Decadence is definitely an interesting scent! It's such an intoxicating smell. You will feel so confident and so sexy wearing this! This isnt something to wear during the hot/summer days . she knows what she's doing and knows what she wants but at the same time can have fun, in a daring, wild, and free way. But at least I was in the house with turned on AC the whole day! i can see how someone could like it, like its definitely sweet and heady, has a sort of lux deepness to it. Its the kind of scent Ill be able to recognise on other people that are wearing it at the time, and say to myself. More purple. I swear this has a hint of green and its not just because of the bottle! Two words: boss bitch. This one surprised me. I got this as gift from my close friend and he couldn't make a better choice. Mature, green with a hint of sweetness in there. My expectations were to the roof but I was let down by my own imagination. A good perfume in the fall/winter time. I don't understand why women complain about the only Marc Jacobs perfume that smells highly sophisticated. Grow Your Business by Working with Groupon, Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. I realized I already have this scent. I remember disliking this perfume when I was much younger, and then feeling baffled and hesitant about the scent even a few months ago and now I find it absolutely addictive and delicious. The plum is very strong on the sample card, but it's nicely balanced by the iris on skin, and softened by the saffron. Decadence opens with a strong powdery sweet smell. I don't get any plum and other delicious notes mentioned in the reviews. The only thing I liked about this was the packaging! You either love it or you hate it. Decadence is also somewhat green, medicinal or herbal in the opening, but it doesnt last that long. Its a bizarre scent for sure, and maybe even slightly pickle-y like some reviewers have pointed out if you really try to look for pickle juice. Top notes are Plum, Saffron and iris; middle notes are Orris, Jasmine Sambac and Bulgarian Rose; base notes are Vetiver, Papyrus and Liquidambar. Loud, fruity with a greasy almost patchouli like vertiver. I find that most of the green fragrances I have smelled are quite refreshing and light so its interesting to smell a more sensual and deeper green blend. This smells DIVINE if your skin chemistry loves you. I like both. Decadence is one of those perfumes where I dont really pull individual notes as theyre blended masterfully, and the result is just an expensive-smelling juice. This is so good. The best I could describe it is that it made the car smell like a late night uber car after having picked up multiple rounds of people from the club. I don't smell the pickles that everyone else does. I should've done a wear on my wrist. Unfortunately, I had to scrub this off. Perfume lovers: 793,528 Fashion isnt a necessity, he told Vogue. Oooo, I was expecting to be a bit hesitant about smelling this and recoiling based on the reviews, but this really reminds me of Mugler Aura at first and does feel pretty "decadent." Decadence and Fancy Nights share a papyrus note and it's very strong and distinctive in both. However I would like to try some of the lighter scented flankers. I love this perfume. I might just be buying into the hype and/or reputation of this fragrance, but I wear this only when feeling slyly fearless. On me this is a very heavy iris lipsticky smell. I pop this on when I go on dates or when I want to feel powerful and dominating. It is an unusual scent so I can see the need for confidence but it's not anything too crazy. This (and Marc Jacobs Daisy which i used to love) also have strange effect on my skin, like it's awakening my allergy. I am in love with this one. Maybe it doesnt work on certain peoples skin but on me its simply gorgeous. There are formulas made in Spain, France and USA.I will appreciate any knowledgeable one thank you. Despite all these, I can say it s the most distinct and beautiful from all MJ I have tested during years. It's as at home as a real Christmas tree, and as upper crust as Palm Beach or Boca. Bought a bigger bottle and am now selling my 1 oz bottle 90% full. It's got a deep brown sugary amber base that I absolutely love, and the plum comes across as dark and juicy and luscious. Stay clear! It opens with the plum. Maybe I shouldn't be testing this in July and then even daring to write a review on it! How is the strike-through price determined? It's funny to me how the bottle and the fragrance itself have the same polarizing effect: you either can't stand it, or absolutely adore it. I really believe certain fragrances need time to "settle" before forming an opinion on them. Perhaps that is why there are so many votes for "dislike" on this scent. It's something a Hollywood icon would wear in my opinion. I think, for the price you can get this at on sale or at discounters, it's a great deal. This is a plum and vetiver bomb. Nothing masculine about it, at all. It's heavy, musky and plummy (it doesn't smell exactly like CD Poison but has that same musky heaviness). It is hard for me to get past this connection, so I am unable to enjoy it. Strong smell yet sophisticated, for dominant woman who doesn't need a man :D. So glad I tried a sample! I kind of love this. I just blind bough this, and I've been wearing it for a few days now, WOW. This is my night out perfume for weekends. I definitely think a man will not appreciate this scent on a woman. Like this is this fragrance for me, I dont regret buying it but I don t want it again. I actually think this one lives up to its name. The packaging, while beautiful, makes it difficult to store and more of a display piece. Long and behold, I opened my fragrance wardrobe and took out my bottle of Decadence. I sprayed it at 8am and I can still smell it at 8pm. And that actually happened next door in the crusty diner. Decadence was a blind buy for me and I have to say Im disappointed with it. How can be this discontinued? its signature scent worthy & i would just chase somebody down if they were wearing this as it is an alluring fragrance maybe not a good blind buy because like i said this is very ambery and maybe on some people the plum jumps out a little more? Bought the biggest size I could find bc I heard it was being discontinued, I also thought the bottle was fun. With that said, theres also this strange, inexplicable sexiness to it. The bottles come in lovely shape and have flexible caps to open and close. Yesterday I went to the Parfmerie and offered me nose because of the great reviews. I love the sweet and sensual plum against the woody vetiver. At least on my skin, mileage is likely to vary on that. Happy customers is our number one goal! It may have a slight bug spray hint in there in the opening, but it smooths out and retains a sexiness and confidence. It is extremely fruity and boozy on me, but not in a good way. A cut above all the other Marc Jacobs fragrances. I no longer feel shame for buying back up bottles because you never know. The face of the campaign shot by Steven Meisel is Adriana Lima. Today, I am much more discerning when it comes to perfume. Great, right?! It is a fiercely confident scent, which at first, I felt was too vicious for my liking. It was a gift from my sister. The name is great and some of the Daisy's are good but this one is a pass for me. To my nose, Decadence has this bizarre rotting fruit undertoneits definitely that plum note, and this fragrance is quite heavy on the plum and yet its somehow still alluring. I knew at first test that I had to buy this scent. everytime i wear this it turns heads and people ask me what I'm wearing. Very unusual for a designer fragrance, also extremely potent and long lasting. You conclude that while you did not experience anything in the slightest bit supernatural, this vile combination of notes will certainly haunt you for the rest of your days. Strong silage and lasts for an eternity. This scent is for the alluring woman; mysterious and, on occasion a bit sinister. I dislike the new thumbs down thing on this group, because it becomes an echo chamber and people should be able to read negative reviews of scents that may not work for them. I just love it. :( Juicy deep, dark green forest. finally i think it's a unique and bold fragrance, the drydown is somehow unisex to me but not sexy. The green notes in Aura is more prominent, strong, a little bit more fresh and overpowering while the green notes in Decadence is more earthy with a little bit sweet twist before it turns into a very prominent plum and saffron scent. Eventually the scent will wind down into the amber and vetiver with a lower sillage than on the first spritz. I mainly bought it because I love the bottle and I collect green things haha. For sure, autumn and winter nights is when it should be sprayed on. I bought a bottle at TJ Maxx about 2 months ago. On the drydown i get this caramel sweetness with a hint of plum. This perfume smells like a woody perfume for A MAN! by Sergey Borisov, Elena Vosnaki, Rouu Abd El-Latif, John Biebel, Stefanie Jhn, Sophie Normand, by Miguel Matos, John Biebel, Elena Knezevic, Nayeli Cano. I really like it! Reading some reviews on here I was skeptical since its either a love or hate with this particular scent. Opens a bit harsh for me. This smells like sweat! Go-to scent when wearing leather jackets, it's the perfect match made in heaven. It is sweet and fruity indeed but its still classy. The scents are unique and last for a long time. I have the 30 ml which has the nicer design in my opinion without the tassle. If you like oudy scents, this is for you! BUT the more refined feminine version with the same level of elegance, if not more interesting. I was wrong.) And yes, GigiTheFashionista, I'd kill to see them make a 'real-life' version to tote this about in! Let alone the wonderful bottle, I just love to look at it :). this smells so beautiful. Only this one sticks out to me. My mom loved it so, I gave it to her, an old edition, telling to keep the bottle when the juice will come to an end. I was hoping for more saffron? This isn't my signature fragrance but it is very likeable and I do love the dark teal glass bottle. Maybe one of my top, out of all my perfumes. 100 mL, good enough just to try. From all the polarized comments about this perfume, I was prepared to not like it. I would agree with other reviewers who report that the sample sniff is not a reliable indication of what it will smell like on skin. Not sure why this is so controversial because it seems like an enjoyable scent. It smells sophisticated and classy. Very weird. So the scramble to find a back up began. Glad I got to try it though. Pickles? The notes are so unique and interesting but sadly the scent is as unpleasant as the packaging. It's a statement fragrance that separates the grand divas from little girls who all smell like soap and wimpy flowers. I kinda of smell the dill pickle profile some people have noted. Very unique fragrance and hard for me to describe. Sweet and at the same time, husky (musky's cousin. Plum plum plum is all I'm getting at first. Perfumes: 73,921 I really don't know how to describe it. Nevertheless, it's worth it for this wonderful scent. Not recommended to those who aren't cool/bold enough ;) This is absolutely nuclear. Mini fragrances in compact bottles can fit your purse and feature modern, feminine fragrances with floral notes. 8/10. This is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Synthetic sugar bomb, screechy, annoying, very cheap-smelling like. Alas, I am not a decadent woman, so I dont think I could pull this off! I honestly cant smell this on me after ten minutes. 100 ml is absent everywhere. The vetiver deepens it even further without making it too woody and there's a kind of brown sugary amber base it all rests on. It stays on clothes for weeks! I must admit that this does smell like aura.. Is not a bad perfume but I could never choose this as my signature fragrance, not my type of scent but I dont mind to have this in my collection, maybe one day Ill start using it, not something I will purchase again. In the UK aldi are selling a dupe of this called "luxe", This was the first fragrance I experienced as truly addictive. Gives me a headache. I don't get green that much. Hahahaha. Right then where do it start so my friend was this and it smells absolutely fantastic on her its gorgeous on her! It's so unique compared to other Marc Jacobs fragrances, really unfortunate that it's been discontinued! The plum fades into the jasmine sambac, which then fades into the vetiver, which is a nice effect but doesn't ever let the jasmine be the star of the show. Bought this years ago, an adorable mini, tried it and found it heavy and it got buried in my boxes of perfumes. Not generic but still sweet. Oh, and its definitely a winter perfume, in case I was not clear enough , although this perfume doesn't have any sweet notes like caramel/vanilla in my opinion it's still a very gourmand and sweet scent. When choosing gifts for your loved ones, you dont always have to go with the obvious. Everything has been said about this fragrance by the number of reviews. HOWEVER, the first time I tried it out before going out, the smell spread inside the whole car and lingered for HOURS as it the overwhelming "green" took over and I just couldn't get the smell out of my nose. But it's just a sophisticated juice that I would wear when I want to pretend to be snobby rich. I live in Ireland, and this is sold out on ALL websites, discounter websites that Iv come across except allbeauty.com. I sprayed it and its definitely strong it does smell like pickles but Im not mad at it ha. This is a weird one. It was a love on first whiff and I'll never stop loving it. I cant wait to grab a 100ml bottle.. This is considered one of my signature fragrances. this scent has one of the most natural amber vetvier smell in the dry down. Oddly enough, despite sharing only iris and rose in their makeup, Decadence reminds me of D&G's The Only One. Tacky in the best way possible. I briefly read the notes before purchasing with a generally excited tone upon purchasing. I am on the fence on this one. I have never smelt anything like it before, to me its luxury in a bottle. My skin made the plum sing, it was enchantingly sweet and seductive, and as a side note, it drove men wild. It literally reminds me of being drunk during the summer in my early 20s. Now that my nose is more mature and I'm more experienced with saffron in fragrances + I gave this fragrance time to mature, it smells absolutely amazing. My heart is broken that this is being discontinued. i cant tell you how awful of an experience trying this perfume was. It has the same scent as my layered Al-Rehab Choco Musk + Moschino Toy Boy (EDP). Its a sexy, woody, fruity, and sweet perfume. It lasts for 2-3 days, even after shower. The only thing I can compare it to is Fancy Nights -- that oft-reviled, Shalimar-like concoction by Jessica Simpson (also in a dark green bottle) that I happen to love. I still have half of a big size bottle left and will cherish. Anyways 10/10 you will be missed. I can't place what now would do that, but if it wasn't for that I would love it. Its not a super sweet fruit, but stays fruity. For some reason I retested it and all I can say, Ive never smelled a perfume that is so different in summer vs winter, its like a different perfume all together. I tend to avoid vetiver as much as possible, so I expected to dislike it after reading the reviews, even the positive ones. My immediate impressions were that I ADORE the kitschy bottle (i love the act of moving the chain to the side before removing the cap to spray it) and this was 100% a luxurious, rich girl perfume that smelled absolutely incredible. Ok! BUT wow I was actually amazed. oh my god yuck. It was one of the most original and interesting perfumes put out by an non-niche perfume house in the last decades. If I had to choose I would prefer the OG. Later that day, my mother, who is mostly indifferent to fragrances, commented that this scent immediately lifted her spirits. I think it would be appropriate for grown & sexy nights.. formal evening events. Thought Id love it. I actually like it, its a fruity vanilla with a hint of spice. Wow, this is a modern-day masterpiece, this is simply an amazing fragrance! I actually do like it on my skin. This perfume is mask approved. Its definitely not for everyone, however, I feel like Decadence is the most remarkable and memorable out of all of Marc Jacobs fragrances. The warmed fruit tone has an interesting dichotomy against the cold vegetal iris/orris butter; it smells warm but it feels cold. This is definitely one to have in your fragrance collection! I managed to snag up a 100ml bottle and use a 10% coupon as well. It's not so green on me. Not my favourite. Decadence is like wearing a green velvet lingerie with a long satin robe with furry sleeves - extremely sexy, embracing, sensual and warm. It has a beautiful sweetness to it. I like the BTF but its too strong for me. Thank God last year I bought a 100ml bottle of it and I still have a half bottle of the 30ml. This one definitely does. It is decadent for sure! I'm hooked on Fragrantica and there's no going back, but sometimes I do wish I could return to the days when I walked into department stores, sampled whatever caught my eye, and then bought whatever was most pleasing to my nose, without being swayed by other people's opinions! What makes this even more amazing, aside from the scent being delicious, is that I didn't pay a lot for this fragrance. The silage and the projection were perfect, without breaking the bank. I hope they bring it back so I can enjoy for many more years but I may have to look around for someone selling theirs who doesn't like it. For example, you do not have to keep buying jewelry and other common gifts. After 30 minutes the plum & jasmine come through beautifully! This fragrance is sweet and powdery with a bit of plum, but like someone else mentioned, it would be even nicer if it were a little spicier. So unique, fresh/green and sweet at the same time. For post-purchase inquiries, please contact customer support. on me it transforms into a sweet green, the scent is so hard to describe I can't even pinpoint notes. sorry if this is your perfume im sure youre lovely but this smells is such an assault on the senses to me. This scent is only challenging, elderly (?!) On me, the strongest impression is assertively fruit forward, then softening into cream and spice, and I like it very much. I usually pair it with a bath and body works spray and lotion. I mean I love woody fragrances and I thought the vetiver would translate well. I was so surprised because I've heard so many good things. D. has long been on my to-get list, so when the sample arrived I was quite excited. Its just weird. A friend gave me a sample and loved it, then quickly found out it was discontinued. Ive tried to get along with this fragrance but it doesnt work for me. The dark green color feels accurate as well, it's a pretty "green" scent. a mermaid going to the club, tzatziki sauce this is definitely an interesting one. Very disappointed that they discontinued it. Unique too so dont worry your not being generic. But I didn't like this scent at all. Being a 'perfumaholic' for the last 10 years has taught me the good, the bad and the ugly of the perfume world and whilst I may not be that great an expert, or a connoisseur of notes, I have learned a thing or two over the years. It's so strong it's a bit of a beast! Its soothing and beautiful. It has a woody, hypnotic, delicately intoxicating, mature woman scent. Thankfully, I was able to buy a bottle on eBay. It's rich and sultry, confident and seductive. She came to visit me during Christmas break and brought it with her. Normally I store fragrances in their packages in order to keep them safe. It is fun and flirty. Not to my nose. So a few days ago, i was aimlessly shopping at TJ Maxx and i was looking for BCBG MaxAzria by Max Azria because it wasn't available at the other locations and i found it, but i also came across Decadence by Marc Jacobs. either way, its worth trying girl. This combination gives the splashes whole a new definition and makes them unique from most on the market. But the drydown turns more pickle-ish and maybemusky? A certain dry musk that doesn't do anything for me. Just a hard pass for me. Its a nope from me. But when I spray the bottle on me its like a punch in the face and it gives me quite a headache. Cheiro de mulher que tem personalidade. This is truly intoxicating! All the people who downvoted this fragrance either haven't tried it or just reading notes and voting against it. Kudos to those who enjoy this. This is a really nice gourmand fragrance, strong on the first spray, opening up to an appealingly spicy dry down, then subtle at the close. Currently looking for something similar. It reminds me of jungle juice or Curacao liquor. Somehow when it dries down to me it feels more like vanilla than amber but I don't know why or how that is. so i thought i was going to love this because i love those sorts of woody heavy luxurious smelling fragrances like BR540 or good girl or even something sweeter but still heavy like la vie eat belle. I have received a free test tube of this. Somebody mentioned pickles and thats pretty much what I get also. I really enjoy this, it has good silage just not longevity on me. Okay, so lately I've been trying to expand my fall/winter perfume collection. We strive to be the best in the industry and innovate our products. It smells true, like the real flower, but also is very much like an old vintage gardenia a friend of my Mother's used to wear, so it takes me into distant past territory. Its like bathing in a bathtub filled with the juiciest and the sweetest of plums. Is it weird that i find this perfume yummy? its like if someone combined all the bad parts of pink sugar and all the bad parts of good girl, which are two fragrance i like but decadence is like them on steroids, honestly felt like every time i breathed in my nose hairs were getting singed off, the notes in here are so sharp, to the point where i just couldnt think straight cause it gave me such bad brain fog. MARC JACOBS DECADENCE 3 PCS GIFT SET FOR HER: NEW AND UNOPENED PACKAGE? Now I had a chance to smell it again at a CVS and my opinion of this perfume has changed, I like it now. I used to wear it to work and whenever I wanted, but now that I'm older, I feel that different scents just like anything, has their time and place. Im happy to report - I am on the pickle team :) I didnt read any reviews mentioning it prior to purchasing, but it was he first thing that I smelled right away after the first spray, so I decided to read to see if I was crazy Luckily, it doesnt stick around for long, turns into gorgeous deep juicy lipstick-y scent. 1 oz bottle is perfect - it doesnt have that crazy long chain with a tassel. He adores the scent on me. it is extremely strong though and too much of it can definitely be too overpowering and mature smelling but overall its sillage is amazing and it lasts extremely long and is a perfect night out, gourmand fragrance.
